Good Standing Certificate —
How to Get It
for GCC Licensing
We help healthcare professionals obtain good standing certificates from their home medical councils for GCC licensing applications — fast, reliable, and coordinated with your wider application timeline.
What Is a Good Standing Certificate?
A good standing certificate is issued by your home country medical council confirming you have no disciplinary actions, license restrictions, or professional misconduct on record — a mandatory document for all GCC medical licensing applications.
A good standing certificate (also called a letter of good standing, certificate of status, or certificate of current professional status) is an official document issued by your home country’s medical, nursing, dental, or pharmacy council. It confirms that your professional registration is valid and in good standing — with no disciplinary actions, sanctions, suspensions, or restrictions on your license.
Every GCC health authority — DHA, DOH, MOH, SCFHS, QCHP, OMSB, NHRA, and Kuwait MOH — requires evidence of good professional standing before processing a medical license application. Without it, your application cannot proceed.
The certificate must be recent (typically issued within the last 3–6 months), correctly formatted, and in most cases attested before it is accepted by a GCC authority. Some authorities also require it to be issued in a specific format or notarised.
We coordinate with your home council on your behalf, ensure the certificate is obtained in the correct format, and integrate its timing within your overall licensing schedule so it remains valid when your application is submitted.
Which Countries Require It?
All six GCC countries require evidence of good professional standing. The format and issuing body required varies — some accept direct council letters, others require notarised and attested versions.
- Required from your home country medical council — must confirm full registration with no restrictions or disciplinary record
- Must be issued within 3–6 months of your DHA/DOH/MOH application submission date — timing is critical
- Requires attestation: home country MOFA → UAE Embassy → UAE MOFA (MOFAIC) before submission
- DHA and DOH may require it to be in a specific format — we confirm requirements for your exact authority
- SCFHS requires a good standing letter from your home country medical council as part of the Mumaris+ registration process
- Saudi Embassy attestation of the certificate is required before upload to Mumaris+
- Arabic translation may be required for some origin countries — we coordinate certified translation
- Validity window typically 3 months — coordinate timing with your overall SCFHS application timeline
- Qatar QCHP: Good standing letter required, with Qatar Embassy attestation in your origin country followed by Qatar MOFA
- Oman OMSB: Good standing certificate required, attested through the standard chain for Oman-bound documents
- Bahrain NHRA: Accepts apostille for Hague Convention countries; full attestation chain for non-Hague origin countries
- Kuwait MOH: Standard good standing letter required with full attestation — Kuwait Embassy + Kuwait MOFA equivalent

Common Issues & How to Resolve Them
My home country council is slow to respond — can you help? Yes. We have established communication channels with major medical councils to follow up and expedite certificate requests.
Many medical councils — particularly in India, Pakistan, and Egypt — have high application volumes and can take weeks to respond to good standing requests, causing knock-on delays to the entire licensing timeline.
Some GCC authorities require the certificate to be in a specific format, on headed paper, with a specific officer’s signature, or with particular wording. A certificate that doesn’t meet format requirements is rejected even if the content is correct.
Good standing certificates are only valid for 3–6 months. If your application is delayed for any reason — DataFlow issues, attestation delays, exam scheduling — the certificate may expire and need to be re-obtained.
Some councils do not accept remote or postal requests for good standing certificates and require the applicant or an authorised representative to apply in person — a significant barrier for professionals already based in the Gulf.
Some councils — particularly in Arabic-speaking countries — issue certificates only in the local language. GCC authorities processing applications in English may require an official English translation.
A resolved or minor disciplinary note — even one that has been fully closed — may still appear on your certificate and could trigger a flag in a GCC licensing application if not handled carefully.
Timeline and Validity
